New Programs for Caregivers

Beginning in October of 2026, WIAAA will begin offering two new programs for caregivers: Memory Cafés & Powerful Tools for Caregivers.

Memory Cafés

Memory Cafés will offer a relaxing, comfortable environment for adults living with cognitive changes and their caregivers to enjoy an hour and a half of stimulating activities and socialization. No registration required. Memory Cafés will be offered in three areas:

  • Geneseo - First Wednesday of each month | Location: TBD

  • Aledo - Second Tuesday of each month | Location: Edwards River Public Library

  • Moline - Second Thursday of each month | Location: Moline Public Library

Powerful Tools for Caregivers

Powerful Tools for Caregivers is an evidence-based program that will equip caregivers with skills to reduce stress and improve well-being. Sessions will be led by trained facilitators and held weekly for six weeks. Powerful Tools for Caregivers will be offered in the following counties:

  • Knox County

  • LaSalle County

  • McDonough County

  • Rock Island County
