Our Mission & Vision

Western Illinois Area Agency on Aging (WIAAA) empowers and supports older adults, adults with disabilities, and their caregivers by providing quality services, resources, and opportunities to maintain independence and elevate quality of life.

Our vision is to lead a network of community agencies to provide accessible, coordinated services for older adults and adults with disabilities to have independent and dignified lives.

About WIAAA

WIAAA is one of 13 area agencies on aging in the state of Illinois. We were founded in 1974 under an amendment to the Older Americans Act of 1965, which was created to help older Americans live in their homes safely and with dignity as long as possible by providing appropriate services and supports.

We are an Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) and provide direct services primarily in Rock Island County. To find out more about our ADRC services, visit our ADRC page.

We receive federal, state, and local funding, which allows us provide a wide range of services. We provide funding to a network of aging and disability service providers in our ten-county area, which includes Bureau, Henderson, Henry, Knox, LaSalle, McDonough, Mercer, Putnam, Rock Island, and Warren.
