                                      Station Resources

This page is for organizations which either currently utilize RSVP volunteers or are considering utilizing RSVP volunteers. The organizations that utilize RSVP members are called "RSVP Stations". The following is a list of downloadable forms and documents that RSVP Stations use.

How to Become an RSVP Station

1. Contact either Co-Directors, Barb Byrne 309-734-6779 in Monmouth or Dave Layton, RSVP 309-793-4425 Rock Island or e-mail Barb at byrne83@msn.com.com or Dave at dlayton@wiaaa.org

2. Confirm that you are a certified nonprofit organization, government agency or institution, or primary healthcare provider (hospital, nursing home or hospice.) Note: churches can apply to become stations if they are requesting volunteers for programs that serve the public such as an after- school program or food pantry etc.
 
3. Explain volunteer needs and work with RSVP Staff to develop appropriate  opportunities:
    a. Include detail of activities and environment where activities take  lace.
    b. Be prepared to take the same responsibility for RSVP volunteers’ 
    enjoyment, safety and liability that you would with any other volunteers
    at your agency.
    c. Be willing to develop volunteer opportunities that are meaningful and
    rewarding.
    d. Be prepared to provide written job descriptions of volunteer 
    opportunities using RSVP template. Email to rsvp@wiaaa.org or fax to
    RSVP 309-793-6807.

4. Once an RSVP Co-Director has determined that you have appropriate volunteer opportunities, you need to review and sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) form which a Co-Director will sign and provide you with a copy.

5. Be prepared to assist RSVP staff in tracking of the impact that RSVP volunteers are making on your clients and/or your ability to serve the public.

www.volunteermatch.org Volunteer Match is the premier volunteer matching site for agencies to post volunteer needs. Note: RSVP stations can get volunteer needs posted for free through RSVP.

www.mvdovia.org Mississippi Valley Directors of Volunteers in Agencies (MVDOVIA) provides excellent training and networking opportunities for volunteer managers and coordinators.

www.nationalservice.gov The Corporation for National and Community Service has an immense amount of support for organizations that utilize volunteers and volunteer managers. Be sure to check out their Resource Center.

www.illinois.gov/serve/Pages/default.aspx "ServeIllinois" is the Illinois Volunteer Commission website. It's loaded with many resources including local ones. Also local postings on VolunteerMatch aggregate to the ServeIllinois site.

www.volunteeriowa.org The Iowa Volunteer Commission has a great variety of volunteer resources. Plus, jobs posted on VolunteerMatch aggregate to this website.

www.volunteer.united-e-way.org/icovs/volunteer/ United Way Volunteer Solutions not only provides volunteer matching, but it also has other resources such as online volunteer tracking.

www.solit.siu.edu/GenServeGen Generations Serving Generations is the Illinois Civic Engagement site. It's an excellent resource for engaging Baby Boomers as they retire. Click on the following document Civic Engagement Resources for more links and information.
