Donna Allman

Mrs. Allman retired from Bendix and became a volunteer for WQPT, Trinity Hospital, Quad City Senior Olympics, Red Cross, the Quad City John Deere Classic, Symphony in Bloom, Adler Theater, Y-wives and Women’s Club, and Senior Citizen’s Dinner on Sunday. Donna currently serves as a member of the Advisory Council Cook Book Committee, and Angel Tree Committee. Donna’s favorite pastime is walking two miles every morning and believes in physical fitness.

Jesse Andereck - [Return to top]

Mr. Andereck spent his professional life as a Process Engineer and now works part-time as a shop manager.  He volunteers for Senior Olympics as a Board Member and has served on the recognition committee of the Advisory Council. Mr. Andereck is also an accomplished singer and enjoys using humor to make people smile. Mr. Andereck volunteers at the Moline Activity Center.

Bonnie Beechum - [Return to top]

Ms. Beechum is currently employed by United Neighbors as Juvenile Justice Coordinator at North High School and working towards developing a Scott County Youth Court Program. Ms. Beechum volunteers with Parent Teacher Club and various committees for the Davenport Community School District. She is President of the Quad Cities Conference on Black Families, Inc. and a member of the African American Museum Board (Cedar Rapids)

Lana Fiems - [Return to top]

Lana is employed with TBP Logistics where she has worked for 31 years. She has served as General Manager for the last 13 years. Lana serves as head of the Angel Tree Committee for the Advisory Council. She has been a member of the Iowa Volunteer Mentor Programs Advisory Council, a member of the Career Women’s Network Board and has served on the Parochial School Board in Moline. Lana has been a volunteer for most of her adult life and feels volunteering is important to those who are about to retire.

Roger Harmelink - [Return to top]

Roger has retired as a Public Accountant. Roger is a SCORE Counselor, a member of the Board of Directors for the Community Resource Center and past Vice-President of the R.S.V.P Advisory Council. Mr. Harmelink enjoys sports, including golf and racquetball, and has assisted in remodeling homes for the John Lewis Coffee House.

Joe Hutter - [Return to top]

Mr. Hutter is retired from law enforcement as a Captain in Bettendorf, Iowa. Mr. Hutter is an AmeriCorps VISTA member serving with the Senior and Law Enforcement Together Program in Scott County. Mr. Hutter served as an Advisory Council officer and is a member of the Scott County Fair Board and Chairmen of the Bettendorf Park Board. Mr. Hutter also served as a past member and officer of the Scott County Extension.

Roselle Jackson - [Return to top]

Mrs. Jackson retired from the Rock Island Arsenal and is a member of Silver Linings Chorus, Great River Echo Chorus, Golden Tones, Ceili Dancers, and Senior Olympics. She also volunteers for Augustana College Choir, Sing-a-Lings and Music Guild Shows. Mrs. Jackson has served as Chairperson of the Recognition Committee for many years.

Marguerita Lawson - [Return to top]

Ms. Lawson retired from nursing after graduating from Lutheran Hospital and 40 years of service. Ms. Lawson worked in Oregon as a Mental Health Nurse and evening Supervisor at Lutheran Hospital. She spent 35 years at St Lukes Hospital in Davenport as a General Medical, Surgical and Intensive Care/Cardiac unit nurse. She took care of the first open heart surgery patient in the Quad Cities and was the Nursing Supervisor. Ms. Lawson currently volunteers with WQPT, Red Cross the Botanical Center, Putnam Museum Angel Tree, Festival of Trees, Senior Olympics, Trinity Hospital, and the OCI Auxiliary. She serves on the Advisory Council for RSVP.


Robert Miller - [Return to top]

Mr. Miller has retired from a career in Education, he served as a professor at St. Ambrose University, in banking and real-estate. He currently is working with Genesis West Medical Center, Trinity Medical Center, and Edison Junior High School.

Edward Mitchell - [Return to top]

Mr. Mitchell retired from teaching after 44 years.  He volunteered for 4-H for 30 years. He served as the Advisory Council President three times, AARP District 4 Coordinator, Member of the Board of Directors for the Blackhawk Unit of Illinois Retired Teacher’s Association, an IRTA Area I Representative, and State Board of Directors. Mr. Mitchell is a member of WIAAA (Vice President) and GRBAAA (Policy Board). Mr. Mitchell is also one of three volunteer leaders in the Senior Computer Center.


Betty Yohnka -

Ms. Yohnka retired from Royal Neighbors of America and is past President of the R.S.V.P. Advisory Council, a Board Member of Generations Area Agency on Aging and serves on the Services Committee. Ms. Yohnka is a Board Member of Churches United and serves on the Habitat for Humanity Selection Committee.
