We will also be issuing a non-competitive request for proposal for respite services (in-home, adult day care, or institutional service).

Completed applications will be due at the WIAAA office on May 16, 2008. Interested persons should contact the WIAAA as soon as possible at (309)793-6800 and state the service or services for which you are seeking funds. In addition, all applicants will be encouraged to attend a grant writing training to be held at Western Illinois Area Agency on Aging, 729 34th Avenue, Rock Island, IL on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 10:00 a.m.

The Western Illinois Area Agency on Aging is a non-profit corporation created for the purpose of improving the quality of life for older Americans. The specific objectives of the agency are threefold: to enable older adults to live in their own homes as long as possible with appropriate supportive services; to remove individual and social barriers to economic and personal independence for older persons including the provision of opportunities for employment and volunteer activities; and to act as an advocate for older persons in developing community resources for the aged throughout the ten county area while providing a comprehensive service network. Counties included in the agency’s jurisdiction are Bureau, Henderson, Henry, Knox, LaSalle, McDonough, Mercer, Putnam, Rock Island, and Warren. E.O.E.
