Derby
Each year the Western Illinois Area Agency on
Aging sponsors a Fishing Derby at the Riverside Park Lagoon, Moline.
The Fishing Derby is generally held in May. Mark your
calendar now for the next WIAAA Fishing Derby!
Each year Individuals 50 and over are invited to a FREE fun- filled morning of fishing, contests, and
door prizes. Registration is required. Donuts and coffee are usually furnished. Door prizes will be awarded throughout the event.
You must bring your own
pole and bait. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources has waived the fishing license for
this four-hour event only.
Door prizes are donated by various businesses in Illinois and Iowa. Their
generosity continues to make our senior fishing derby a great success.
